In 1967, Yes it was already then it first started, with the Swedish-American man called Mr Chester Wickenberg. He came to the world-famous table-tennis company STIGA with his idea of making a pump which pumped air in both the pull and push stroke!
The idea was patented and the Original QUICKER pump was born. STIGA had a huge success with this pump and quickly conquered the market for air-mattress pumps in Sweden. The foresight in hiring a famous designer Mr Carl-Arne Breger was surely a contributing positive factor as well.
In 1973, the success with the Original Quicker was followed up with the second double action pump in the world namned Miniquicker. This pump is a smaller version of Quicker Original and is very suitable for inflating rubber dinghies, balloons and also wonderful to use when you want rapidly want to get a perfect glow on the charcoal of your grill!
In 1987, Mr Dan Molander who had been working as a injection moulding consultant for STIGA with the Quicker pumps, bought and overtook the whole concept from STIGA. The goal was to market the pumps abroad. Soon the Miniquicker became a really popular balloon pump!
There was also a success with a larger version of Quicker Original especially made for the Swedish Civil defence.
In 1991, came the idea of making a smaller model, which was going to be used for inflating for balls and bicycles! After visiting several international trade fairs, the decision was taken to launch the Quicker Micro. Even this time the designer Mr Carl-Arne Breger was hired.
It was then decided to exhibit at the international bicycle fair in Köln / Germany to market the Quicker Micro. The response was fantastic for this small, but yet so effective bicycle and ball pump!
In 1994, it was decided to make a new competitive model in order to expand the range of pumps. This double action pump was named Quicker Bike as a bicycle pump and Quicker Ball as the sportball version.
In 1997, the idea to produce a small bicycle pump that could inflate higher pressure was born. The technique MULTI CHAMBER DOUBLE ACTION was patented and is now the fastest and strongest pump system in the world! The first pump with this system was the Quicker Pro, in 1997 called Quicker Pro Twist.
In 2002, another revolutionary idea came along and the pump Quicker Pro Stationary was born. This unique and patented pump is always fixed on the frame! This pump was concidered by many as one of the most innovative products at the International bicycle show of IFMA in 2002. Quicker Pro Stationary is ofcourse equipped with the Multi Chamber Double Action technique too! |
